GYFTY53 光纜的結構是將 250μm 光纖套入高模量材料制成的松套管中，松套管內填充防水化合物。纜芯的中心是一根非金屬加強芯（FRP），對于某些芯數的光纜來說， 非金屬加強芯外還需要擠上一層聚乙烯（PE）。松套管（和填充繩）圍繞中心加強芯絞合成緊湊和圓形的纜芯，纜芯內的縫隙充以阻水填充物。纜芯外擠上一層聚乙烯內護套，雙面涂塑鋼帶（PSP）縱包后擠制聚乙烯護套成纜。
The fibers, 250μm, are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound. A Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) locates in the center of core as a non-metallic strength member. The tubes (and fillers) are stranded around the strength member into a compact and circular core. Then the cable core is covered with a thin polyethylene (PE) inner sheath, which is filled with jelly to protect it from water ingress. A layer of water-blocking material is applied around the cable core to prevent water ingress all the same. After a corrugated steel tape armor is applied. the cable is completed with a PE outer sheath.
