Jun kiln, namely Juntai kiln, is a unique style synthesized on the basis of the style of Chai kiln and Lushan flower pottery. It was deeply influenced by Taoist thought and reached its peak in Huizong period of Song Dynasty. Its craft and technology reached its peak. No matter the color rendering and the expression of various textures, the performance technology of kiln changing can be controlled at will, so far no one can imitate it. Influenced by Neo-Confucianism in the Song Dynasty, the porcelain was regular and symmetrical. Both the shape and the texture followed this principle, especially the Jun porcelain made by the officials in the Northern Song Dynasty, which was strictly observed in both the study utensils and large sacrificial utensils.

有人認為鈞窯的必備特點就是釉面具有“蚯蚓走泥紋”，這不完全正確，只能說是特點之一。很多館藏鈞窯的釉面是不具有走泥紋的。因為在當時的官窯，力求釉色均勻，但由于少數器皿在燒制中的窯溫、釉色原料配比、燒制環境等因素的影響造成了釉面在溫度中的變化還原不一，才形成了走泥紋。
